Position Type: Office - Full Time. No remote availability.
This is an intro-level position where you will work closely with our product development team to create incredible and engaging pet products. This is a unique role giving you the ability to see your designs and creativity come to reality.
There are two fundamental requirements to be considered for this role. First, you must be able to commute to our Sterling, VA, office. Second, you must LOVE animals, including dogs and cats. Merely liking them is not enough. You must love the paws, the licks, and the fur. We are in the pet industry, one that never stops evolving and innovating.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, create, and improve new and current product offerings using feedback, specifications, and internal guidelines
- Support manufacturing and design activities by developing prototypes for products in development
- Determine product tolerances, sizing, and limitations according to a number of various factors and uses
- Consult market research materials and sales data to ensure that products are viable and competitive
- Submit proposals and designs for evaluation by the project team and management before moving to the next stage
- Track submission status for inline programs/approvals.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Significant expertise and proficiency in Adobe graphic software including but not limited to illustrator and photoshop. You will be tested on this!
- Highly organized and initiative-taking individual with ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and levels.
- Enthusiastic about pets and their well-being!
- Basic knowledge of popular franchises and properties from Disney, Warner Bros, Lucas, Sanrio, Peanuts, and other popular culture is a plus
